ReUVandy Marketplace Terms & Conditions

Welcome to ReUVandy, the specialized platform for the Vanderbilt community to securely buy, sell, or exchange essential student items. Accessing, browsing, or otherwise using our services indicates your agreement to follow and be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

  1. Definitions:
    “Platform” denotes the ReUVandy online marketplace, its associated services, and any related mobile applications.
    “User” or “Member” refers to any individual registered on ReUVandy, including both buyers and sellers.
    “Listing” represents any item or service posted for sale or exchange on the Platform.

  2. Registration and User Account:
    Only current Vanderbilt students, alumni, and faculty are eligible for registration.
    Users are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of their account credentials.
    Suspicious activity or unauthorized access must be promptly reported.
    Misrepresentation or the creation of duplicate accounts may lead to suspension or termination.

  3. Conduct on the Platform:
    Listings of items prohibited by local, state, federal law, or the Vanderbilt University code of conduct will be removed immediately.
    Engaging in fraudulent activities, harassment, or any form of malicious conduct is strictly forbidden.
    Users are advised not to complete transactions outside of the ReUVandy Platform. Transactions made outside of the Platform will not be protected or supported by our services and are done at the user’s risk.

  4. Listings and Transactions:
    Sellers are responsible for the accuracy and authenticity of their listings.
    Transactions should ideally be completed within the boundaries of the Platform to ensure the security and transparency of the process.
    While ReUVandy aims to facilitate secure and seamless interactions, we are not liable for disputes arising from off-platform agreements.
    The Platform reserves the right to remove listings that are in violation of these Terms or if they appear suspicious.

  5. Privacy and Data Protection:
    Our commitment is towards the utmost protection of user data. Interactions with our Platform indicate consent to our data handling practices, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.

  6. Intellectual Property:
    The exclusive rights to all content on the Platform, barring user-generated listings, belong to ReUVandy and are protected under intellectual property laws.
    Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability:
    ReUVandy operates as an intermediary platform. We take measures for user safety, but cannot be held accountable for external transaction disputes or the quality of items.
    The Platform is extended “as is,” with no assurances against potential disruptions, vulnerabilities, or occasional discrepancies.

  7. Termination and Suspension:
    Accounts infringing on these Terms or found engaged in malpractice may face suspension or termination, with or without prior notification.

  8. Dispute Resolution:
    Disputes should initially seek a peaceful resolution. If unresolved, legal procedures will follow, adhering to the jurisdiction and laws of the state of Tennessee.

  9. Amendments:
    Periodic updates to these Terms can be expected. Users will be informed of major changes through the platform or their registered email.
